The Turquoise Croc is a nature lover's dream and is located in the beautiful, lush neighborhood of South Point on Caye Caulker. This unique house was built in 2007 and recently received a total overhaul and upgrade. This gorgeous little home has two floors as well as a covered rooftop crow’s nest that affords magnificent 360-degree island views. The property backs to the Caye Caulker Nature Reserve, providing you with an incredible opportunity to view forest wildlife in addition to the stunning sea views from upper levels.

The second level of the home is graced with Belizean hardwood on the floors and ceiling and has an open layout that includes triple bunk beds, living space, half bath and a bedroom. The home comes fully furnished and turnkey and with the full-sized bed, futon and bunk beds it can sleep a family of 5 or 6 people.  There are two mini-split AC units to keep the air cool in the living and sleeping spaces. One of our favorite things is the groovy outdoor shower that offers breathtaking views while you bathe. This level has a covered veranda on two sides.

One of the major updates is a spacious new kitchen located on the ground level. It is screened-in and makes it possible for you to sit and eat around the table while enjoying the nice natural wind and bright sunlight. It’s a great space!

The Turquoise Croc is entirely self-supporting with rainwater catchment and solar power that can last up to four days on its own on cloudy days. The water catchment was built into the foundation of the structure and stores over 20,000 gallons of water. The solar power system was recently updated with new solar panels and batteries. The property has a garage with an electric garage door and kayak storage area in the garage (sale includes two kayaks!). The solar power system and batteries are also housed in the garage. There are also outdoor security cameras for property protection.

The land is 60 ft x 90 ft and the house itself measures 24 ft x 24 ft on two floors. The house was built with pressure-treated pine and the pillars go approximately 20 feet down to the bedrock.

Over the years, this property has done very well as a vacation rental, creating enough rental income to pay for upkeep and improvements as well as provide the owners with a great house to swap on a home exchange website. It has been successfully traded for stays in a 300-year-old chateau in the Swiss Alps and a 700-year-old adobe hut in Taos. It's been traded for Paris flats and Manhattan apartments. This little house works for its people!

The views of wildlife from this home are incomparable. Nestled between the sea and a nature reserve at the tip of the island, residents and visitors are treated to sightings of incredible birds, colorful crabs and magnificent sunsets.

Completely turnkey, the property comes with all furniture, linens, towels, local art, kitchenware, appliances and the aforementioned kayaks!

ps...have to say it again....two words: OUTDOOR SHOWER
